This documentation page outlines the steps for synchronizing MS Dynamics marketing lists with corresponding static Audiences in magnews, both manually and programmatically.
Configure the synchronization
To synchronize Dynamics marketing list with a static audience you need to follow these steps:
- Navigate to "Marketing lists" section by clicking on the menu (or context bar right panel) and click on Import marketing list;
- Select the marketing list you want to import by (you can search by name) and click on it to configure the import;
- Choose a name for the new static audience and fill the "Target audience" field: by default we propose you the same name of the marketing list. Ensure that you've selected the right database in the platform;
- Select the "Enable marketing list import" to enable both the manual and programmatic sync.
The most significant options for the single list configuration are:
- Empty the audience before starting the import:
Activate this option to be sure that contacts that are not anymore in the marketing list will be removed also from the audience. Also, this option can be useful if someone have added contacts to the audience by mistake manually or by other sources; - Sync contacts of the list:
Activate this option to import all new contacts and their fields, that have not been already imported in the platform. A new job "Dynamics: import [entity type]" for the entity type corresponding to the list's members entity type, will be triggered within the marketing list sync execution.
If your contact's database is already aligned with the members entities, you can deselect this option and only perform a contacts match skipping the full import: this will significantly speed up the sync of the list.

Manual Synchronization
Click on the "Import now" button to schedule the Marketing list sync. The execution will begin as soon as the system is available.
Monitor the sync job status to ensure that it completes successfully. You can find the link to the job in the "Status of the import" section or the full list of jobs in the Management System Tasks log section.
By clicking on the icon near the audience name you have fast access to the list of contacts imported in the audience.
Programmatic Synchronization
Select the "Import periodically" option and choose the week days and time schedules to define the moments when you want the audience to be updated.
By clicking "Save" you'll be able to see the Next execution field changed according to the configuration provided.
