You can send Communications or Transactionals using the WhatsApp custom channel configured on magnews. The platform will send the messages to the mobile numbers of selected contacts using the system field CELL to retrieve the contact's phone.
Before you start
Before using the WhatsApp Business custom channel on the platform, you must have already prepared and got approved a WhatsApp notification template on Sinch Engage. Furthermore, you must have downloaded the metadata and templates on the platform and got selected the template as enabled in the Management > Sinch Engage > Settings page.
Communications
Following the path:
Journey Lab > My Journey > Communications > New communication
and select the channel WhatsApp Business; then click on Save.
In the next step you will be asked to choose the Sinch Engage channel (through the connected ones), the WhatsApp template and the Language.
Once you choose the mandatory paramaters, we will show you the variables that need to be filled based on the notification type.
For example, if your template has an image ad header, we will show you an input text that can be filled with an image placeholder.
If you don't fill all the placeholders, you will be blocked on the Check step and you won't be able to move forward to the next step.
To get an idea of how the variables in the template will be replaced, you can view the preview of the communication. Note that this preview will probably be very different from the message actually displayed by the end user (for example, the links will be shortened by WhatsApp).
Transactionals
Following the path:
Journey Lab > My Journey > Communications > Transactionals > New transactional
and follow the same step as the Communication creation explained above.
