The related entities feature allows for "low-level" synchronization of any Salesforce object within custom tables on the platform.
The synchronization is a simple data base and does not add functionalities to the Salesforce Connector.
To access the related entities, in the context bar Salesforce Configuration, you need to access the Related Entities page:
The list of related entities is initially empty
To import the related entities (one at a time), click on the button
A pop-up window will open, showing the list of all Salesforce objects that can be imported and have not yet been imported.
For the entity you wish to import (e.g., Case
), click on the related Import link
The list of columns of the selected entity is displayed, and you can deselect the columns you do not wish to import onto the platform.
Confirm the operation to complete the import.
The entity import process does not immediately synchronize the records of the related entity, but only creates the custom table on the platform.
To configure the synchronization of data for the related entity, click on the "pencil" in the Actions bar:
During data synchronization, you can ensure that deleted records on Salesforce are also deleted on the platform.
Additionally, at the end of each contact synchronization, it is possible to automatically schedule the synchronization of the related entity. The automatic scheduling is also activated after synchronizing the Salesforce campaign target.
The automatic import is a periodic operation, executed every so many hours (e.g., 24), for which the date and time of the next execution can be defined.
Enabling and defining an import filter with one or more conditions allows you to include or exclude records from the related entity synchronization.
You can set the filter so that all conditions are considered, or at least one.
Conditions are added by clicking the Add condition button, and all the fields present in Salesforce, along with the logical operators, are displayed.
With the Count button, you can check how many Salesforce records satisfy — at the time of the click — the set filter.
Example of an import filter:
This filter imports only the contacts with populated Email and Case number.
If the import filter is modified after the entities have been imported, the records already present on the platform will not be removed/excluded.
Available actions on related entities
Actions are available for related entities. In particular:
- On-demand synchronization
immediately schedules the synchronization of the related entity.
- Deletion of all records
