Only a subset of Salesforce campaign data (name, description, id, start date, end date, and campaign member list) is transferred to platform campaigns.
The standard procedure involves adding a custom type magnews in the type field of the Campaign object.
The steps for creating a Custom Campaign are slightly different if you use Salesforce in Classic or Lightning version.
Salesforce Lightning
- Click on Setup at the top right of the page;
- Click on Objects and Fields in the left contextual menu, under the Platform Tools section;
- In its submenu click on Object Manager;
- Click on Campaign;
- In the left contextual menu, click on Fields and Relationships;
- On the page that appears, find and click on the Type option;
Scroll down the page and find the section Campaign Type Picklist Values, then click on New.
On the next page, assign the name MagNews
to the Campaign Type you are creating and then click on Save at the bottom of the page.
Salesforce Classic
Click on Setup at the top right of the page.
In the left contextual menu, follow the path:
Create > Customize > Campaigns > Fields
On the page containing the list of Standard Campaign Fields, find and click on Type.
Scroll down the page to the Campaign Type Picklist Values section and click on New.
Assign the name MagNews
to the Campaign Type you are creating and click on Save at the bottom of the page to complete the operation.
