Frequency Rules
The rules limit the number of times an on-site message is displayed to visitors.
You can choose whether to display the on-site message:
- Infinite times:
If you select this option, there will be no limit to the number of times the on-site message will be displayed to each visitor. You will also need to set the delay between each display; - A max of:
If you select this option, you'll need to set the maximum number of times a visitor can view the on-site message. You'll also need to define the time interval between each view.
Identity Rules
The on-site message can also be displayed:
- To all visitors:
The on-site message will be displayed to all visitors, regardless of whether they are associated with a contact in the database. - To recognized visitors:
It will only be displayed to visitors who are associated with a contact in the database; - To anonymous visitors:
will only be displayed to visitors who are not associated with a contact in the database.
Additional Rules
In the Rules section, you can add additional conditions that establish additional filters on recognized visitors and/or when the on-site message will be displayed.
Visitor-based Rules
Contact Filter:
Creates a filter condition for contacts. As in the image, you can also specify a condition related to the display of another on-site message (e.g., contacts who viewed "On-site Message 1" before a certain date).Automatically excludes anonymous visitors, as the filter cannot be applied to them.- Belonging to audience :
You can show an on-site message only to contacts belonging to one or more selected audiences.
This condition automatically excludes anonymous visitors. - Expression:
Allows you to enter an expression about visitors based on which the on-site message will be displayed. By clicking on Advanced Mode, you can use the conditions available for anonymous visitors or write an expression directly using the page variables or visitor variables. - New/returning:
You can limit the display of the on-site message to only visitors who are visiting the page for the first time or also to those who have visited it previously. - Device:
You can show on-site messages only to desktop or mobile devices. - Language:
The on-site message will be displayed only to contacts logging in with a browser configured in the chosen language. - Country:
The on-site message will be displayed only to contacts logging in from a specific country.
Behavior-Based Rules
- Interaction with on-site message:
The on-site message will be shown only to contacts who have interacted with another on-site message (even if it belongs to another journey). - Origin:
You can specify whether the visitor to whom the on-site message should be shown comes from a specific URL (or from a URL that contains or begins with a word). - Current Page:
You can limit the display of the on-site message to visitors who come exclusively from one or more specific web pages.
Pages can be identified by their URL or title. - Web tag (last interaction)
The on-site message will be displayed onlyIt will be displayed to contacts who have already interacted with an object associated with one or more Web Tags in a defined time interval. - Web Tag (number of interactions)
The on-site message will be displayed only to contacts who have already interacted with an object associated with one or more Web Tags. - Number of visited pages:
This condition displays the on-site message only to visitors who have viewed a minimum number of pages (in the session or in total). - Time on the site:
The on-site message will be displayed only after the configured time interval.
Time-Based Rules
- Hours:
The display will only be active during the configured time slot. Day of the week:
The on-site message will only be displayed on the configured days of the week.
To precisely configure your strategy, you can add an unlimited number of conditions by clicking the Add Rule button that appears next to the last configured option.
