How to connect to the magnews MCP server

What you need to do to connect the magnews MCP server to ChatGPT:

  1. On magnews > Create the digital certificate for the MCP server

  2. On ChatGPT > Connect the magnews MCP server

How to create the digital certificate for the MCP server

Log in to your magnews account.

Go to “Settings” > “API & Integrations” > “Digital certificates.”

Here, at the top, click the “Connect MCP server” button.

The first time, you’ll be asked to confirm the creation of the certificate you need to connect ChatGPT to the magnews MCP server.

Confirm by clicking the create button.

The next screen shows (and lets you copy) the information that ChatGPT will ask you for:

  • MCP server URL 
  • Certificate client ID 
  • Certificate client secret.

How to connect the magnews MCP server

Do you have developer mode enabled?

To connect the MCP server to ChatGPT, developer mode must be enabled in your ChatGPT account.

Create an app to connect

Log in to ChatGPT. In “Settings > Apps”, click “Create app". The following window will open:

 

Fill in the required fields.

The MCP server URL is: https://mcp-mn1.mag-news.it/mcp/stream.

Enter the access credentials

Then click on “Advanced settings”. A new window will open:

Enter:

  • the client ID and client secret generated in magnews
  • check the box “I understand and want to continue”
  • click “Create”

You’ll be redirected to the magnews login page, where you’ll be asked to authorize ChatGPT to access your account:

Enter your usual magnews credentials and click “Authorize”.

Start using the MCP server

Once logged in, the magnews MCP server will appear among the available tools in ChatGPT.

To make it available in the current conversation:

  • click the “+”
  • go to “More options” 
  • select the “Magnews MCP” server.
