Exporting contacts from magnews to HubSpot allows you to send the information collected during campaigns back to your CRM, keeping marketing and sales aligned.
Unlike import, this operation does not create new contacts: only contacts already present in HubSpot are updated, identified by their email address.
From the HubSpot contacts update card, you can manage all main operations.
- Fields mapping → define which data to send to HubSpot and which properties to save it in
- Start export now → run a manual export immediately
- Schedule → schedule automatic updates
Fields mapping
In this step, you define which magnews data to send to HubSpot.
You can map fields from the magnews database to HubSpot contact properties, choosing exactly which information to update.
Typically, you can export:
- scoring data
- engagement data
- interaction statistics for assets (e.g. opens, clicks, campaign interactions)
Avoid mapping the same fields in both import and export.
For example, updating the first name from HubSpot to magnews
(import)
and then sending it back from magnews to HubSpot (export) is unnecessary
and may cause
continuous overwrites between the two systems.
In general:
- in import, it is best to manage data whose primary source is HubSpot (e.g. personal details, CRM data)
- in export, it is best to send data generated by magnews (e.g. statistics, opens, clicks, engagement)
Schedule automatic updates
To keep HubSpot up to date without manual intervention, you can enable periodic synchronization.
From the main card, click Schedule to open the scheduling settings.
By enabling “Enable periodic update”, you can define:
- days of the week when the update should run
- times (one or more during the day)
Once enabled, the synchronization will automatically update contacts in HubSpot according to the defined schedule.
From the card, you can always see:
- when the last update was executed
- when the next one is scheduled
At any time, you can still run the operation manually using “Start export now”.
This way, HubSpot always stays up to date with engagement data and the most relevant information collected in magnews, without manual tasks.
