With a multilingual landing page, you can display the same content in multiple languages without creating separate pages. You can also translate survey questions, answer options, and messages displayed while completing a form.
Before you begin, check that multilingual support is enabled in your account.
Configure the landing page languages
When creating the landing page or editing its settings, you can choose:
- The main language, in which you prepare the original content and which aligns it with default messages, such as those reporting errors in form fields
- The additional languages into which you want to translate the landing page content
A new landing page always has a main language. If you have enabled the "Default additional languages for new assets" option in the journey, the additional languages configured in the journey are also proposed. Otherwise, only the main language is included.
You can review and change the languages in the creation dialog, adding languages enabled in your account or removing those you do not want to use.
For example, to create a survey in Italian and English, set Italian as the main language and add English as an additional language. Then prepare the questions and their translations.
Landing pages created with the previous configuration have no main language set. When you open the settings, a message prompts you to choose one to align the content and default messages. Select the language the text is written in, then add any additional languages you need.
Translate the content
In the designer, click Translate to open the translation page. Here you will find a tab for each page of the landing page and a column for each configured language. You can also translate page titles and SEO descriptions.
If the landing page contains a form or survey, also check and translate:
- Question labels, descriptions, and subtitles
- Options for single-choice, multiple-choice, or dropdown questions
- Row and column labels in matrix questions
- Button text
- The error summary and any custom error messages
You can also work on translations directly in the designer by switching languages with the language selector.
To share the text with language reviewers, export it from the translation page.
When you choose the main language or add other languages, the landing page uses the text available in the template for each language. Adding a language does not automatically translate the content: check the proposed text and complete the translations before publishing.
Translate question options
For questions with multiple options, click the Translate button dedicated to the options. The dialog that opens has a tab for each language.
Use this dialog to translate existing options. To add or delete options, return to the question settings.
Check each version before publishing
Open the preview and use the language selector to check each version on desktop and mobile devices. You can also select a contact to check the landing page using their data and the corresponding personalizations.
If the landing page contains multiple pages, also check the pages after the first, the thank-you page, and any courtesy pages.
Check the text, questions, buttons, and links, as well as any images containing text: translating the content does not change text embedded in images.
Open an active landing page in your browser
On the landing page home, the Pages card shows the configured languages. When the landing page is active, click a language to open that version in your browser: use these links for internal testing or to show translations to colleagues without sending a test communication.
Do not copy these URLs into communications.
Use the link field to select the landing page and the page you want to open. Magnews will insert the correct placeholder to recognize the contact, display the version in the appropriate language, and record statistics.
