You can use web tags to qualify visits from contacts to pages on your website. Suppose we tag the web pages on your site with web tags. So, for example, if we are talking about cinema, we can associate pages containing articles with the tags noir, horror, comedy...
One or more tags (called Web tags) can be associated with the pages visited.
Web tags are used to trigger the display of an on-site message or within a script.
To create a new Web tag, follow the path:
Journey Lab > Web tracking > Web tag
The page containing the list of already available Web tags will be displayed.
Click on the "New web tag" button at the top right to access its configuration page.
Fill in the fields:
- Tag name:
assign a label to the Web tag you are creating; - Tag ID:
the ID of the Web tag is an identifier used to reference it in a script or as a variable name for filters.
Then proceed to define the rules according to which the Web tags are associated with a visitor.
Click the "Add" button to add a new condition.
- Choose whether the association of the Web tag will be based on the Page title or its Page address.
- Select whether the page contains, is equal to, starts with, or ends with what is defined in the first field. Alternatively, you can create a regular expression to define a custom criterion.
- Define the content based on which the association will be made.
You can add additional rules as needed by clicking the button and adding the new rule.
When you have finished configuring the Web tag, click the Save button at the top right to record your preferences.
