Contact date event
This node starts the workflow session based on the date contained in a contact field. Choose:
- The database to which the contact field belongs (or “Any database” for global database fields)
- The contact field containing the date to be checked
- The time at which the workflow should start:
- Date: the exact day or a number of days or weeks before or after the date
- Time: the time of day
- You must select the final checkbox “The contact only enters if registered” if you want the session to start only for contacts already registered in the database.
For example, you can use this node to send a reminder the day before an event.
Contact anniversary
The classic example of using this node is the happy birthday flow. This event triggers the workflow every year on the anniversary of a contact field date.
If you have a contact field with the contact's date of birth, this node will start a new session on the same day each year. If, for example, you have a field with the registration date, you could send a discount coupon or a file to download to celebrate the anniversary: “You've been with us for a year now, download the dedicated resource.”
- Choose whether you want to start the workflow on a specific date, or before or after the date and by how much time (e.g., follow up on an event 5 days later; reminder of an appointment one day before);
- choose the time you want to start the session;
- select the contact field that contains the date to be monitored;
- you can decide whether only registered contacts are included, or all contacts.
