Want to add contacts directly to your database? Let’s see how to create a sign-up flow.
- Go to Profile Studio and select your target database
- Open Settings and click on Service Pages
- Click the button New service page
- Select the Subscribe option
- Click the Create Page button
- Choose between single opt-in or double opt-in
With single opt-in, the contact is added directly to the database without any verification.
With double opt-in, the contact receives a confirmation email; until they click the confirmation link, their status will remain “Unconfirmed,” meaning they will not receive messages.

For fields such as first name, last name, and company, you can choose a Text Field element.
For information such as province, region, and country, we recommend the Dropdown Menu element. - Replace the default text with your own label.
- Check the “Connect to contact field” option and select the corresponding field.
- For dropdown fields >> scroll to the top where the answer options are located and click the Copy from contact field button.
- Go to the Rules tab and decide whether the question is required or not; if it is, you can customize the error message.
- Save the item.
- Add all the questions
Open the button properties and, if necessary, customize the “Subscribe Contact” action
Single opt-in
- If you initially chose this template, you may need to customize the source and decide whether to allow contacts who are already subscribed to resubscribe
- If you want to customize your preferences, click on “Advanced Options” and set any exceptionsDouble opt-in
You can customize the “Subscribe Contact” action by setting a different source and deciding how to handle contacts who try to resubscribe:
- If you don't want to allow resubscription, set the option: Show an error to contacts who are already subscribed
- If you want to update the entered data but keep them in the subscribed status: Click on Advanced Options and set Update data and keep status unchanged
- If you want to update the data and reset its status to “Unconfirmed,” select the option “Keep data and status unchanged.”- Click the Save Action button
- For double opt-in: Customize the “Send transactional email” action
Create a new version of the message by editing the text in the email body
NOTE: The button text is already correct, so we recommend not changing it. - Publish the new message and save the action.
- Click the Save button
- If you want to edit the next page, select the page named Success from the dropdown menu at the top
- Return to the Home page and activate the page by clicking the corresponding button
