The platform connects to Sinch Engage through the REST API.
Go to the connector Settings page following the path:
Management > Sinch Engage > Channel list
and fill the API Key parameter with the value copied from the first Sinch Engage channel you want to connect, then click on Connect.
The API Key can be generated and copied in Sinch Engage, in the Settings section, by clicking API.
You can copy to clipboard the existing key or generate a new one.
The API Key is specific for a single Sinch Engage channel; if you have more than a channel in your Sinch Engage account you need to generate a different key for every channel you want to connect.
If the API Key is correct, the page will display the list of the channels available and the connection status for each of them. This page will also display the messenger available (WhatsApp, Telegram) and the number of WhatsApp notification templates enabled.
- By clicking the Update button (with at least one channel connected), the list of the available channels will be updated.
- By clicking the Reset channels button, all the metadata and configurations will be deleted, and you will need to start configuration from scratch.
Channel home
By clicking on the channel name you will access to the specific channel home.
When you connect a channel, we will also download on the platform the Sinch Engage customer's fields, so that you can use them to set up the Sinchronization configuration of contacts. Also, we will download the list of all the WhatsApp notification templates (only those in an approved status) that can be used to be sent as communications or transactional messages.

In the WhatsApp tab you can enable or disable the templates you want to use in the platform.
By default, all WhatsApp notification templates are enabled to be used for sending notification messages or communication, but you can, for example, disable a certain template, to avoid using that template in the platform.
After the first connection, if you add a WhatsApp notification template or a contact field on Sinch Engage side, you will need to manually trigger the metadata and templates download by clicking on Update button.
