To use the Magento Connector, complete the setup first in the Magento backend and then in the connector settings in magnews.
The steps for configuring the connection with the Magento Connector are:
- Plugin installation
- Creating a user on Magento Admin UI
- Configuring the connection on magnews
Plugin installation
The Magento PHP plugin is a module to be installed on your Magento instance and allows communication between our platform and Magento.
There are two installation modes available: completely automatic via composer, or semi-automatic: part via composer and part through a zip file.
Ask the person managing your Magento instance to follow the instructions contained on the Installation of the Magento plugin page, accessible from the Global Configuration of the connector.
Creating a user on Magento Admin UI
Once the MagNews_QueryService module is installed and enabled on your Magento instance, you will have a new permission among the available User Roles on Magento Admin. Create a new profile that has both Read and Write permissions and assign it to the user to be used in the connection configuration.
The Write permission is necessary to report the unsubscribed contacts initiated by our newsletters back to Magento, so that the contacts remain unsubscribed on magnews following the daily imports from Magento.
Configuring the connection on the platform
Once the module is configured in Magento, navigate to the Global Configuration section of the connector following the path:
Management > Magento Connector > Global Configuration
