The Google Ads Connector exports contacts matching user-defined selection criteria to Google Ads and sends them to Google to be added to the selected segment. Exported contacts that do not match Google contacts will be discarded.
To export the contacts, you first need to create your segment, then go to Connect, select Google Ads and click on Audience Segments.
You will access the page containing the list of segments.
Click on the New Segment button and fill out the form in its sections:

if you select this option every day at a predetermined time or periodically every set number of hours, an automatic export of contacts will be performed. The time format is HH:mm. -
Contacts to export
it is mandatory to indicate to the connector which contacts will be subject to export.
To do so, you must create a filter to select them.
By using the Count Filter Contacts function, you can find out how many contacts are the subject of the comparison with Google.
Once the configuration is complete, click the Save button at the top right of the page.
Mapping
Through field mapping, you can decide which information to use, among those the contacts have shared with you, to search for matching contacts on Google and associate them with audiences targeted in marketing campaigns across various Google channels (Search, YouTube, Gmail, Display). We always propose email address mapping by default, but you can also add other fields to search for contacts. This way, you can increase the match rate:
- Phone
- Address: composed of fields including first name, last name, ZIP code, country, street, and city.
It is common for some users to have different contact data across platforms or sites, so by combining all available fields, you have a higher probability of finding Google users.
In the case of physical addresses, Google Ads requires first name, last name, ZIP code, and country; including street and city might result in fewer users found, but the search result is undoubtedly more precise.
Export status
In this section, there are three items and a button:
-
Last execution
shows date and time of the last export -
Last error
which shows the date and time when the last export error occurred - Next execution in case an automatic export is configured, shows the date and time of the next execution
- Click the Start export now button, this button initiates an immediate export of contacts regardless of any scheduled plans.
Once the export is launched, under the Next execution item, the value Scheduled will be indicated, which means the export process is in progress.
Upon refreshing the page after the operation is complete, the same section will show data related to the last export (date and time of the operation, number of contacts filtered, discarded, exported, or invalid)
