What are static audiences
Static audiences are containers of contacts without rule settings or automatic updates.
Contacts must be added or removed by the user or by some automatic or manual task.
How to create a static audience
To create a static audience, go to the Profile Studio > Audience Management > Statics page and use the New Audience button at the top right.
If the static audience is temporary and the time after which it will be unused is known, you can use the Delete automatically option, which allows you to choose a number of days after which the audience will be automatically deleted.
Deleting the audience, whether manual or automatic, does not delete the contacts it contains.
You can also create a static audience during the importing of a contact file. From here, you can set up the creation of an audience to which all imported contacts will belong.
Static audiences cannot have a nested structure among themselves, but they can be "parents" of dynamic audiences. To do this, simply use the "New sub-audience" action found in the static audience list.
How to add or remove contacts
From a contact's home, in the "Audience" tab, you can use the Add to Audience button. The following window asks you to choose the static audience to which to add the contact.
To remove the contact, from the same page, you can use Remove, which is located on the audience row.
As indicated above, you can then add all imported contacts to a static audience during the contact import from file.
