Learn how to make your subject unique by personalizing it with each recipient's name and preview how it will look.
How to set up the subject
To personalize the subject, go to the configuration screen of your draft email and click on Setup.
To make the subject unique by inserting each recipient's name, click on the "Insert field" icon next to the subject area.
In this new window, select or write:
- Type, what type of information you are using; leave "Contact field" selected;
- Database, where you find the information; leave "Global database" if you have the recipients' names saved in the "Name" field on the platform;
- Field, what information you are using to personalize; choose "Name" to insert each recipient's name;
- Default value (optional), the text that appears if you don't have the recipient's name (e.g., "Hello" or "Good Day").
Complete the subject personalization
After clicking on Insert, the subject will transform as follows: [contact:NAME
{Hello globetrotter} encode="encodehtml"]
The square brackets "[ ]" indicate the use of a placeholder: here, "NAME" is the placeholder for the "Name" field in the platform.
The curly braces "{ }" contain the "Default value", if specified.
After personalizing the subject with the placeholder, add the rest of the text; for example: "[contact:NAME {Hello globetrotter} encode="encodehtml"], find out our travel destinations"
