Learn how to activate the functionality necessary for the automatic detection of contacts' time zones and how to send communication in the recipients' time zone.
Activate the "Detect the time zone" feature
To make your life easier, the platform offers a feature that automatically detects the time zone of your contacts.
Access the "Profile Studio" menu, select the "Database List" area, and then "Global Database."
Expand the "Settings" area view and visit the "Contact Fields" section.
Look for the system field called "Time Zone" (or "Timezone") and access its edit panel.
Here, you can enable the "Detects the time zone of contacts" option, a setting that applies to all contacts in your databases.
When your contacts interact with the links in your communications, the platform monitors the web traffic generated, automatically recording the contact's time zone. This information is saved in this system field of the database.
Remember that the "Time Zone" field can also be imported manually, for example, from an Excel or text file. However, automatic detection updates over time, overwriting the contacts' time zone value, making it the preferable choice.
Sending a communication according to the contacts' time zone
To send a message respecting the recipients' time zone, proceed to the sending screen and select the recipients.
Opt for "Scheduled" sending, specify the day and time of sending, and activate the "In the time zone of the contact" option.
Complete the configuration and confirm sending.
Keep in mind that, due to time zones, sending might occur at slightly different times for some recipients compared to the time set in your platform's time zone.
