The send rate limiter allows you to control how quickly the messages in a communication are delivered.
It can be useful when you want to avoid too many people accessing a website, landing page, or restricted area linked from the communication at the same time. By spreading traffic over a longer period, you can reduce the risk of overloading your systems.
You can find this option in the second step of the communication sending process, under the Options tab, in the Delivery section.
When you enable the send rate limiter, a field appears where you can specify the maximum number of messages to send per hour.
The minimum value you can set is 60,000 messages per hour (1,000 messages per minute).
If you need to slow down delivery even further, you can ask our Help Desk to lower the limit to as little as 600 messages per hour (10 messages per minute).
Values are handled in multiples of 60. If you enter a different number, magnews automatically rounds it down to the nearest multiple of 60. For example, if you enter 60,128, the value is automatically converted to 60,120.
Once you've set the limit, you can proceed with the send: magnews will respect the specified rate and distribute message delivery accordingly.
