In the world of Digital Marketing, email communication remains one of the most powerful tools to reach your customers. However, for email marketing campaigns to be effective, it is crucial to have a good reputation as a sender and good deliverability.
Using valid sender domains, correctly configured and implementing email authentication technologies such as DKIM and DMARC, is crucial to ensure that your emails reach your recipients.
This is not just a matter of best practices: today, the implementation of email authentication technologies is a necessity to comply with the requirements for senders of Gmail, Yahoo, and Microsoft and avoid having your emails marked as spam or, worse, blocked.
In this article, we will explore the most common alerts and issues you might encounter for your sender domains, providing guidance on how to resolve them and optimize your email communication.
You have not yet created the sender domain
What it means
You have not yet configured the email address domain of your communications as a sender domain in your account.
Defining the sender domain is essential to configure DKIM, an authentication technology that ensures the integrity and authenticity of sent emails. Furthermore, this configuration is essential to comply with the requirements for senders of Gmail, Yahoo, and Microsoft on email authentication and to ensure proper email delivery to recipients, preventing them from being classified as spam or blocked.
What to do
- Go to the Sender Domains section inside Settings and then Brand Protection
- Click on the "New Sender Domain" button at the top right
- Enter your domain and click "Create Sender Domain"
- After creating the sender domain, proceed with the DKIM configuration

The sender domain is not certified with DKIM
What it means
For the sender domain, you have not yet configured DKIM, an authentication technology that ensures the integrity and authenticity of sent emails, improves the sender domain reputation, and deliverability. Furthermore, this configuration is essential to comply with the requirements for senders of Gmail, Yahoo, and Microsoft and to ensure proper email delivery to your recipients, preventing them from being classified as spam or blocked.
What to do
Configure DKIM in a few steps:
- Go to the Sender Domains section from Settings and then Brand Protection
- Click on your sender domain to view the TXT record you will need to add in the DNS management panel of your hosting provider or registrar (e.g., Aruba, Register, GoDaddy, etc.).
- Create the TXT record in the DNS management panel of your hosting provider or registrar
- Access the sender domains section again, click on the sender domain, and then Activate the DKIM certification by clicking the appropriate button.

The sender domain has invalid DKIM
What it means
The sender domain has an invalid DKIM record. This means that the TXT record for DKIM certification, published in your domain's DNS management panel, is not correct. Incorrect configuration might lead to your emails being classified as spam or even blocked.
What to do
- Verify the TXT record: check in your domain's DNS panel that a TXT record exists with the DNS Hostname and DKIM Key corresponding to those indicated in the Information tab of the sender domain.
-
Access the TXT record information: go to Settings > Brand Protection > Sender Domains.
- Click on the domain with invalid DKIM
- Check the Information tab
-
Modify the TXT record: If you are responsible for configuring the sender domain's DNS, directly update the TXT record from the control panel of your hosting provider or registrar.
Otherwise, contact your IT team or whoever manages these configurations.
Contact our Help Desk support if you need further clarification on the DKIM record configuration error and how to resolve it.
The sender domain has DKIM certification deactivated
What it means
DKIM certification is not yet active for the sender domain. Its activation is necessary to ensure the integrity and authenticity of sent emails. Furthermore, this configuration is essential to comply with the requirements for senders of Gmail, Yahoo, and Microsoft and to ensure proper email delivery to your recipients, preventing them from being classified as spam or blocked.
What to do
- Go to the Sender Domains section from Settings and then Brand Protection
- Click on your sender domain with deactivated certification
- Click on the Activate certification button
Your domain does not authorize the platform to send messages
What it means
The sender domain publish a DMARC record with a restrictive policy (quarantine or reject) but is not yet certified with DKIM. DKIM certification is necessary to ensure DMARC alignment, one of the fundamental requirements for DMARC functionality. Without DKIM, your emails risk being classified as spam or not delivered.
What to do
It is important to configure DKIM certification for the sender domain to ensure that your emails sent from Magnews are correctly delivered to recipients:
- Go to the Sender Domains section from Settings and then Brand Protection
- Click on your sender domain to view the TXT record you will need to add in the DNS management panel of your hosting provider or registrar (e.g., Aruba, Register, GoDaddy, etc.).
- Create the TXT record in the DNS management panel of your hosting provider or registrar
- Access the sender domains section again, click on the sender domain, and then Activate the DKIM certification by clicking the appropriate button.
For more details, refer to the article How to define the sender domain and configure DKIM.
The sender domain is not configured properly
What it means
Magnews has detected that the sender domain is not configured to receive emails because it does not publish an MX record.
The MX record is the DNS record that defines which mail servers are authorized to accept and receive emails on behalf of the domain.
In the absence of an MX record, various issues could occur:
-
Inability to receive: you will not be able to receive emails on your domain. This means you will not receive emails in the inbox associated with the email address used as the sender for your communications. This could result in not receiving requests from your contacts, such as further inquiries about your promotions or services, or even unsubscribe requests from your communications. Not responding to these emails could damage relationships with your contacts, leading to a loss of trust and interest.
- Deliverability issues: some mail providers might consider your sender domain invalid and less reliable, and as a result, might mark your emails as spam or block them, preventing delivery to recipients.
What to do
Contact your IT team, or whoever manages technical configurations for your sender domain, to request the creation of an MX record for your sender domain. We also recommend requesting the activation of a mailbox associated with the email address on the sender domain so you can receive and manage any requests from your contacts after sending your communications.
