Customizing newsletter content is a fundamental step to increase engagement and conversions. Thanks to the integration between magnews and Magento, you can automatically include relevant product recommendations for each individual contact, based on purchase history and other users' purchase behavior.
Activating product recommendations
To start using this feature, go to the order synchronization configuration page. Here you will find a section dedicated to Product Recommendation. By clicking on Enable, you can configure the main options that regulate the product recommendation system behavior.
Among the available settings:

Recommendation algorithm

Behavioral: suggests items that have been purchased by other customers with similar habits to those of the contact.

Related products: displays products that have often been purchased together with the items previously bought by the contact.

Maximum number of recommended products: you can define how many items to display in the newsletter. The system might propose fewer if the data available for the contact is insufficient.

Recommend already purchased products: activating this option will include items that have been ordered in the past in the recommendations.

Ignore too old orders: useful to limit the analysis to a more recent history.
Automatic calculation and update
Once the feature is activated, magnews automatically calculates the recommended products for each contact, with a daily update.
To trigger the recommended products calculation manually and modify the update frequency or calculation settings, access the Settings > Scheduled tasks section and find the task dedicated to the recommendations calculation for Magento. From there, you can view and modify all the scheduling options.
Inserting recommended products into a communication
To use recommended products in a newsletter, create a communication using the Inspire template. Within the message, add a Magento Product Selection section.
When opening the section in edit mode, go to the Content tab and choose the option AI recommended products from the drop-down menu "What to show to the contact?". You can adjust any additional options, then click on Save.
During the preview phase of the communication, you will be able to see which products would be shown to each contact, allowing you to verify that the recommendations meet expectations.
