With the new version 6.0 of the Shopify app, new features and improvements are available to help you manage your e-commerce data more effectively in magnews.
From managing returns and viewing purchased products to new synchronization and configuration options, here are the main updates.
Order returns management
Synchronization with Shopify now also supports product return information, giving you a more complete view of your customers' purchase history.
You can now take returned products into account and access more accurate information to analyze your contacts' purchasing behavior.
Thumbnail images of purchased products
Viewing your customers' orders is now easier.
In the magnews contact profile, you can now view thumbnail images of individual purchased products directly in the order history.
This makes it easier to recognize products and review purchase information without switching between magnews and Shopify.
Improved data synchronization
We've introduced several updates to make synchronization between Shopify and magnews more complete and reliable.
These include:
Order information: synchronization of fulfillment status and purchased product SKU codes.
Contact data: improvements to data management and marketing consent updates.
Contact language: the ability to map the Shopify language field to the corresponding field in magnews, keeping contacts' language preferences up to date.
Abandoned checkouts: more accurate handling of checkouts that have already been converted into orders, preventing them from being treated as abandoned.
Product recommendation updates
With Product Recommendation, you can now configure a scheduled task to automatically update recommended products, keeping recommendations up to date without manual intervention.
Error notifications
You can now configure one or more email addresses to receive a notification whenever a recurring app operation ends with an error.
This helps you quickly identify potential issues and take action when needed.
Other improvements
Version 6.0 also includes several interface improvements to make configuring and using the app easier and more intuitive.
We've also updated the integration to the Shopify 2025-10 API to maintain compatibility with the platform and ensure uninterrupted data synchronization.
