Each contact is always associated with one of these statuses:
- Subscribed: the contact wishes to receive communications
- Unconfirmed: the contact has not yet confirmed the registration
- Suspended: the contact will not receive communications for a certain period of time, but can return to Subscribed status at any time
- Unsubscribed: the contact will no longer receive communications
Subscribed contacts
- They can receive communications.
- They can be segmented into dynamic audiences.
- They can be selected as a target during a communication delivery.
Unconfirmed contacts
- They are usually in this status when, in the case of a double-optin registration form, the form has been filled out but the registration has not yet been confirmed.
- A reminder to confirm the subscription can be sent via a mass operation.
Suspended contacts
- Suspended contacts will not receive communications for a determined period of time.
- They can be reactivated either through the contact import operation or via a mass operation.
- They may have been suspended by an account user for various reasons, such as after a subscribers check up.
Unsubscribed contacts
- Unsubscribed contacts no longer wish to receive communications.
- They might have been unsubscribed from the platform through the blacklist or directly by an account user.
- Apart from some well-defined exceptions, they cannot be re-imported.
- They cannot be reactivated through mass operations.
