A contact belongs to a single database and must always have at least one active sending channel (email SMS or fax). Each contact will only ever be in one status: subscribed, unconfirmed, suspended or unsubscribed. You can use the Filter function for search tasks on contacts.
If the key field in the database is the username, then it is presumed that multiple contacts have the same associated email address.
What are contacts and what are they used for
Contacts are essential for the development of your communication projects. After being collected through strategic lead generation activities, they are updated and supplemented over time through initiatives (such as surveys and interviews) and processes designed to feed a continuous flow of reliable data.
Careful management of data allows for improved relevance and effectiveness of communications, so that they are adhered to the needs of stakeholders.
Where contacts are housed and how they can be organized
Databases are the containers that collect contacts according to logics of origin, master data management, fields, and subscriptions to certain types of communication.
The View Contacts function, found in the home on the platform, gives you an overview. From here you can perform many actions on contacts, such as counting them, filtering them, seeing the breakdown by status, making massive changes, etc.
The Manage Audiences feature allows you to organize in contacts in a functional and usable way. In fact, it allows you to create static or dynamic audiences, represented in an intuitive way.
How to insert new contacts
Upload a file or create a single new contact.
What are the statuses of the contacts
Each contact is always associated with a status [ed. insert cross-link contact status:
- subscribed;
- unsubscribed;
- unconfirmed;
- suspended.
This logical subdivision allows efficient and structured organization of contacts and audiences, which are essential for segmentation based on master data and/or profiling.
How to check the quality of contacts
The Subscriber Check feature assesses the quality and health of contacts imported into the databases.
This tool helps reduce the number of emails that do not reach the recipient (bounces), as well as the risk of complaints due to receiving unwanted communications.
How to measure contact interest
Engagement measures the interest of contacts in the communications received.
Contacts are divided into:
- clickers;
- openers;
- new;
- ex-openers;
- never openers;
- out of recency.
