This function allows you to import data related to orders placed by customers on your Shopify online store into a custom table of the platform linked to a database field. Once the history is imported, it will be possible to:
- create contact filters based on your purchase history (such as identifying contacts who have purchased a certain category of products).
- have a data base on which to generate product suggestions through the Product Recommendation feature
The Order Synchronization is available in the Advanced version of the Shopify connector.
For more information, please contact the Help Desk.
Configuration
From Connect > Prestashop, click on Order Synchronization Configuration and select the Enable Import checkbox.
To ensure proper functioning, contacts must have already been imported from PrestaShop; otherwise, orders will be discarded and not imported.
Select the order status to import: for example, you might not want to import orders that are in progress or not yet finalized.
You need to enable the Daily Import option to automate the import and specify a time for downloading orders. We recommend keeping this option activated to download past orders and keep the table clean by removing expired orders.
The Import orders from the period parameter determines both which orders to download from Shopify and which orders to delete from the platform because they are expired. Selecting All will import all available orders on PrestaShop and will never be deleted from Magnews. Selecting the last 3 months, only orders from the last three months will be retained, with older ones being deleted.
Using purchase history in contact filters
Once configuration is complete and running smoothly, it will be possible to use order data to filter contacts and create groups based on the characteristics of the purchases made.
For example, it will be possible to conduct dedicated marketing towards those who have purchased a certain category of products within a certain period of time, or select contacts who have placed an order exceeding a certain amount.
From the contact list, click on Filter, then on PrestaShop > Ordered Items.
Enable the advanced filter and choose the In clause, then click on Edit condition.
from here you can use an advanced condition, for example, to filter contacts with Orders whose Total is above a certain amount.
