When you make an email communication you can use sections and blocks to create the content and organize it.
Use this guide to learn what different types of content make up the blocks of your communication. Most of the options are available using the new designer in the Matilda interface.
Sections
Each email communication consists of several sections, each of which consists of one or more blocks.
Choose a single- or multi-column section and insert the blocks to create the content.
From the Matilda interface select a composition from the catalog, browsing through the available options grouped by category: header, content, products, footer, etc.. If you have saved custom sections you will find them under “my sections”.
Define whether to display the section on mobile, enable responsive behavior to change the layout according to screen size.
Blocks
Create and rearrange your email content with blocks. From the Matilda interface you will have additional customization possibilities, through additional options.
- use blocks to add text, images, buttons, and more to your email;
- move, resize, and delete blocks to change the layout of chosen sections from catalog;
- define behavior on mobile.
The common configurations of the sections
There are common configuration values in the sections.
Access in edit a section, and from the side panel you can edit:
- Layout: configures the outer and inner background color, the relationship between columns when present, customization of top, bottom, side spaces.
- Columns: available on multi-column sections, allows you to set background color, spacing between columns, borders, whether to show columns on mobile.
- Mobile: define whether the section is visible on desktop, mobile or both. Keep responsive behavior active on mobile to make the layout automatically readjust based on screen size, making it easier to read on smaller ones.
- Content: link the section to dynamic content, whether it is products taken from e-commerce or other information captured from other integrated systems.
