A web domain can be associated with various platform entities: communication, database, delivery cluster, sender domain, landing page.
When the platform customizes the links displayed by contacts in email communications or landing pages, it selects which web domain to use based on this hierarchy:

communication setup;
-
contact's delivery cluster setup;

contact's database setup;
-
web domain associated with the sender domain;
-
web domain of the web pages associated with the communication;
-
default web domain;
-
system domain.
Communication
To set a specific web domain for a communication, go to Settings then from the Advanced section, select the web domain for the communication's links.
Delivery cluster
In a delivery cluster, it is possible to define the web domain that the platform should use to personalize the links of communications for contacts associated with this delivery cluster.
To set a specific web domain for a database, go to the list of databases in Profile Studio, click on the three dots to the right of the database of interest, and select Edit. Then go to the Advanced section, enable Customize email technical options and select the Web Domain to personalize the links of communications that you will send to the contacts in this database.
From the journey setup, you can set:

the web domain for communication links: under Advanced from the Send options

the web domain for the permalinks of the landing pages, under the section Web > Basic
Landing page
Go to the landing page Settings, enable Permalink and choose the web domain.
From here you can also define the URL slug.
Sender domain
Access the list of sender domains from Settings > Brand Protection > Sender domains.
Click on the sender domain, then on Associate web domain, choose the web domain, save and close.
Default web domain
Go to Settings > Brand Protection > Web domains.
Click the button at the top right Default web domain, select the web domain.
