Check which resources occupy the disk space of your account, how it is calculated, and what actions to take to optimize its use.
What disk space is
It is the storage space used to store files related to communications, templates, images, on-site messages, statistical reports, and any other files generated for digital marketing activities and projects developed on the platform.
Where to check available and occupied disk space
Access the “Settings” menu and view the information in the “Available in your account” box.
The disk space usage is calculated automatically by the system once a day.
To get real-time updated information, click on the value indicating the occupied disk space and then, in the window that opens, click the “Refresh” button.
How disk space is calculated
Disk space is calculated by adding up all the files present on the platform. For easier reading, these files are divided into categories:
-
CMS Resources: files used for managing communications, templates, landing pages, images, etc.;
-
Files for users: saved in the specific user folders in the platform's FTP section;
-
File sharing: resources shared among users in the "File Exchange" area;
-
Apps: installation and utility files of connectors needed for integration with other technologies
-
Reports: data related to the statistics of different platform entities (communications, landing pages, workflows, on-site messages, etc.);
-
Other account space: everything not counted in the previous categories, such as files in your account's FTP folders, temporary files from contact imports, etc.
How to reduce occupied disk space
Before proceeding, it is necessary to identify the files to be deleted (see previous paragraph, "Where to check available and occupied disk space").
Most deletable files fall into the following categories:
-
CMS resources: where you can manually delete obsolete communication templates and landing pages (or even entire journeys);
-
Note well: once the deletion of the selected entities is confirmed, there will be no way to recover them. Proceed cautiously and only delete resources if you consider this a definitive decision;
-
-
Other account space: usually, most files are found in the Settings > FTP > File Explorer section folders;
-
browse the folders and manually delete the files that no longer need to be retained, or
-
access the "Periodic actions" section and configure automatic deletion tasks for files older than X days contained within specific platform FTP folders.
-
How much disk space is allocated for my account
To verify, access the "Available in your account" section (see paragraph "Where to check available and occupied disk space").
To increase available disk space or change data retention times (communication events, transactional messages, media, etc.), contact your business consultant to request an adjustment of service limits. Remember that the maximum configurable disk space is 1,024 GB.
